Sustainability Programs

Sustainability Committee will support community projects that will create a lasting positive impact for residents of San Antonio and Bexar County through a variety of initiatives. These include educational programs, interactive fan experiences, and volunteer efforts at local program sites. 

Delivering The Most Sustainable Final Four Yet

SALOC and the NCAA will aim to develop a scalable, repeatable and measurable sustainability playbook for events to be used across future NCAA events, ensuring lasting impact.

SUSTAINABILITY PILLARS

Our sustainability plan will advance our commitment to key environment-positive objectives through our four pillars:​

Identify & Manage Emissions

Increase energy efficiency, decarbonize energy, cooling and transport, and balance any remaining emissions through carbon offsets.​

Replenish Water

Reduce operational water consumption, replenish the water that we use, and drive water positive conservation efforts.​

Increase Circularity

Reduce the amount of resources used, increase use of recycled content, and reused materials. Aim to keep products in use so that nothing goes to waste.​

Biodiversity Gains icon.png

Make Biodiversity Gains

Protect and preserve habitats and increasing the abundance and diversity of plant and animal species appropriate to local ecology.​
